MENS JEANS : **************************************** ****************************************************************************** **************************************"What? Girl's jeans? You really think so? I never really thoughtabout it. Got them in a thrift store and they were on the men's rack. Oh well, I like them anyway. Even like the word "Chic" on the backsince I like Chic's - if you get my drift. Anyway, they fit great andfor five bucks I guess I'll keep wearing them."You won't ever have to have that little conversation. The only peoplewho just might notice are FABs (Female At Birth) and other CDs. In anycase, they won't say anything to you. But, if anyone ever did saysomething, you've got the above little answer for them. Let them makeanything out of that. *** Note: This E-Mail address is BOGUS. MENS JEANS : I wear women's jeans all the time. Specifically I wear levisjeans in the junior cut size 9-long in both the girl's 505 andgirl's 550 style. The 505 is straight leg and the 550 is tappered, both are female versions of the same men's jeans. The main differencesare narrower waist, higher rise, and more room in the hips. Iabsolutelty LOVE the fit of the girl's 505's but levis doesn't makethem anymore. They fit much better than the men's version and theylook much better because of the rise and pocket size and spacingwhich are designed to accent the curves more and make the butt lookmore compact. The 550's are great too, but the long is only 33" vs34" in the 505. I wish levis would make the girl's 505 again!!Take a look at the pockets on the 550 jeans for men and women. You'llsee that on the womens jean the dip into each other more and almostcome together in the back - space about an inch between them atthe closest. The mens jeans the pockest are more straight up and downand can be spaced several inches apart, even in the smaller waistsizes. This enforces the BIG look for men and the SMALL, delicate lookfor women. MENS JEANS : As for being able to tell - unlike men's levis jeans, the women'sjeans do not advertise the waist size on the label - instead a big"L" for (long) appears where there is waist and length measure on themens jeans. This is a giveaway only if you know the difference - whichis probably limited to people in the levis stores and maybe women whobuy both mens and womens jeans. I think its cool! When I stand in lineswith women wearing levis we have the same thing on our lablel, differentfrom men - it's great! Also the look of the fit to me is clearly morefeminine because of the higher rises, curvier fits, and more flatteringfit on the butt. But I doubt many folks notice this. On my blackgirls' 505's the rivets are very shiny copper/brass color - the men's505's are a much duller rivet color (although the 501's have the shinny)but I think I'm the only one who'd ever notive that. MENS JEANS : I also have a pair of womens classic fit jeans from the Gap in 8-Longwhich is a 34" inch length. These are slightly tappered, just roomyenough in the hips and with a narrow waist. The rise is higher than anymens jeans so they have aslightly feminine look to them, but I doubtanyone could "read" them except perhaps a gap salesperson. I'm going totry the gap original fit for women, but haven't gottne around to it yet.I guess my point is that if you go with "female" versions of some of themens jeans you can get what you might want, a more feminine fit andlook, but not to the point of being blatent, and also, still able tofit your body well, depending on your own features. I have a narrowwaist relative to my hips (I wear a 30" waist in mens jeans), so thejuniro cuts actually fit me better than a lot of mens jeans. My onlyproblem is height - I like a 34" (at least) for the length which is aboutas long as most womens jeans will go (if your lucky).
