MEN'S JEANS : The only thing that's easy(ish) for women to buy is a bra. 40D has apretty straightforward meaning, and the bra manufacturers aren'tfucking with it yet. But they're fucking with panties -- explain tome why I wear a size 18 dress but a size 7 panty? Oh, and while I'm here and bitching... why the hell is women'sclothing generally of lower quality? Compare women's cotton underwearto men's cotton underwear. Unless you spend an arm and a leg for thepanties, they're made of the cheapest cotton available -- thin enoughto see through. Men's underwear, on the other hand, is both cheap andmade of thick cotton. My women's jeans wear out faster than the men'sjeans I own [2] -- even though they're from the same manufacturer!Women's flannel shirts are generally expensive, and they're almostalways thinner. And on and on and on.[2] I do wear men's jeans. They're generally cheaper than women's jeans, and last longer.

MEN'S JEANS : Regarding men's jeans styles, current vareities include standard fit, loose fit, relaxed fit and baggy fit (of course, then there's theultra-baggy 3/4 length atrocities favored by teens, but that's anotherstory). Jeans have gotten baggier and baggier; meanwhile, Levi's hasdiscontinued the 512 slim fit, tapered-leg jeans.I'm wondering what is propelling this transformation? At a time whenmass culture emphasizes staying in shape and six-pack abs, guys aredraping themselves with excessive amounts of fabric (I don't believeI've ever seen this with women's jeans). Are these styles driven by what manufacturers think women want to seemen wearing? As a guy who is slim (and to be honest, without much of a butt), theaverage loose-fitting pair of jeans hang from my waist with nuttin' butair underneath! This being the case, I searched around and finally founda leftover pair of 32x32 Levi's 512s, which with thong underwear on, fitme like a glove.

MEN'S JEANS : Now that I've found jeans that actually reveal the shape of my butt, Iwonder; is this a "look" that women want to see on men, or do mostprefer the status quo?I can't stand the goofy baggy look on anyone, including guys.Regarding not being able to find jeans that fit, try women's jeans, especially the 507s. My husband wears them for the exact reason youmention - he can't find regular men's jeans that fit. No one can tell bylooking at them that they're women's jeans anyway, and if they fit, whogives a sh*t who they were made for.Levi 502 jeans also work if you prefer button fly, and they are sized bywaist, and come in three lengths, making it easier to get the right fit. JC Penneyhasthem. They are a superlow Junior jean but the fit and style is pretty muchunisex. They've been taken off the levi.com website but still available. Cheaper($30) atJC Penney than at the Levi outlet stores, go figure. Or $20 each atdenimexpress.com.

MEN'S JEANS : I just got a pair of Levi men's Skinner jeans, they are very close fitting, low riseeven by men's standards, but boot fit at the ankle. Very cool. They may looktoo "young" for some folks and they are a bit pricier ($65) and harder tofind. I gotmine from Deco Denim (decodenim.com) but you won't see them on theirwebsite, you'll need to call. Or call Levi Strauss and ask them to find a store thathas them- they actually suggested the Skinner jean to me when I called. 800 USALEVI.Note they are very tight, I had to go up a size. Now I have to find at-shirt togo with them, men's t-shirts are similarly oversized...Thats for the info...I ordered a pair of 502s from DemimExpress, and althoughI'd prefer a zipper, at $20, who could complain! Hopefully they'll fit me okay.As for the Skinners, they sound like they are a nice tight fit, but I'mwondering if I'd need to try a few pairs on before buying to make sure the fitis right. My regular size is 32x32...do you think 33x32 would suffice?

MEN'S JEANS : I normally take a 28 or 29 waist for Levis and the 30" Skinner jeans fitabout the same at the waist as the 28" 502s, but the 28" Skinner I couldn'teven get on! Skinner is not available in odd waist sizes. So I think youwill need 34. If you order from Deco Denim, they'll let you exchange for adifferent size within 30 days, you just pay shipping to Miami. That's what Idid when I found the 28s were too small. No big hassle except it takes a bitof time and a couple bucks.Check out the Levi.com website for the other specs on the jeans before youorder. There are two colors, I got the "twin turbo" color which is darkerbut doesn't have the crease line down the front. If I want a crease line inmy jeans, I'll iron them (not!).Thanks for the detailed info...it will be a big help in getting the right fitand color.
