MATERNITY JEANS : lauriemommy to Jessica, 19 months &boy peanut, due 4/10/02I am 4 months pregnant and I just got a pair of something calledbiggerbritches that I ordered online in the mail. my friend who justhad her baby told me about them. You can actually wear your own pantsfor quite a while and home from the hospital. I am wearing them nowand they are totally comfortable. They cover the front of your pantsso you don't look like you forgot to do up your pants like with someof the contraptions out there. Anyway, you could try a pair of them. The website is . Good luck!"Laurie" wrote in message...had trouble finding non bootcut, but I'm short and bootcut lookedridiculous. They're probably the ones I bought yesterday for $15, only these are straight.lauriemommy to Jessica, 19 months &boy peanut, due 4/10/02Laurie have you tried your normal jeans with a bellypouch/band inserted? I have one and they are great, theylasted me up to about 7 mths with Seth.

MATERNITY JEANS : I hope you get some good responses from this newsgroup. So, hopefullythis is just one response of many for you. Buying some maternityclothes is not really as difficult as one might think. Go look in yourwife's closet/drawers and find out what size pants she normally wears. Many maternity clothes are sized exactly the same as regular clothes -they're just cut differently. Many times, however, they are just sizedS-M-L. Go to the maternity department or store of your choice and finda couple pairs of cotton or cotton blend pants with an elastic waist. If they are sized S-M-L, simply ask a clerk what size you should buybased on your wife's regular size. Buy some basic colors which she canwear with just about anything - black, navy, brown, etc. The sameprinciple goes for shirts too - either same as her regular size or askthe clerk for help with S-M-L. If she's just starting to grow, however, she is probably in more dire need of pants than shirts. Shewill probably be able to wear longer regular sized shirts over hermaternity pants for a while yet.

MATERNITY JEANS : I seriously think that a couple pairs of comfortable pants would meanmore to her right now than some sexy lingerie could ever mean to her. Good luck and have fun.I would recommend the Motherhood Maternity brand leggings and loosepants. I'd be tearing my hair out without these.I'm normally a jeans and a t-shirt person, and I spent ages and agestrying to accomodate my preferences... sadly I've had to adapt a lot,for instance, to starting to carry a purse because nothing is madewith pockets, a massive frustration for me. I've ended up settling onmostly wearing the leggings I mentioned, which are very comfortable andmade from cotton, and a few large shirts, some of which are maternityand some of which are just large.I really, really, really loathed every single pair of maternity jeansI laid eyes on. I don't know whose brilliant idea it is to make somegarment that looks marginally like jeans from the thigh down, but hasan elastic panel in the front made out of lycra in some color likebright orange. Maternity jeans don't even come close to meeting thejeans requirements of someone who ordinarily leaves in a pair of Levi'sand a t-shirt, so do be forewarned!

MATERNITY JEANS : I looked into overalls too, but because of my massive increase in bust, men's overalls fit really weirdly. Maternity overalls, as often as not, could not have been gotten in and out of without help -- NOT somethingyou want when you need to be going to the bathroom all the time! What really sold me on the Motherhood Maternity stuff is that it lookslike normal clothing, and is reasonably priced. Their loose pants andleggings are cut with extra room in front for a growing belly, butdon't have this strange cutout of a different color and kind of fabricthing. If you _do_ choose to get some pants that have the cutout aspect,I highly recommend picking up a few flattering matching LONG shirts thatwill cover the weird panel.Chad went with me on every maternity-clothes-buying expedition, and itreally was an enormous help emotionally, in addition to every other way.Having him help me look through racks of clothing for items that lookedmore or less like things I might wear in a non-pregnant state, and giving me opinions on things I tried on, were both wonderful. Thinkingback, I think having a few such excursions even qualified as fun!

MATERNITY JEANS : We also got me a few flattering, attractive dresses, and having thosearound to put on and try to feel like I look a little better has beennice at times. Shopping for things like that together was a godsend. Ithink I'd have been completely destroyed and demoralized by the maternityclothing store experience if Chad hadn't gone with me and helped make itfun. If you feel up to it, taking your wife on a maternity clothes shopping spree of sorts might even be enjoyable. *grin* And, you can besure that way that you don't pick her up anything that fits kinda funnyor just doesn't _feel_ right -- both things which could be at issue withwomen's clothes in general, but especially when pregnant.I commend you, also, for being male and willing to enter maternityclothing stores or maternity departments! I've seen a lot of awkward,embarrassed-looking men standing around outside these stores anddepartments, and there's really no need (unless, perhaps, their femalecounterparts didn't want them to be there, I suppose).
