JOE'S JEANS : they are just plain hot...really trendy looking and make your body lookamazing!Who makes Sevens jeans and do they have a corporate web site that describestheir jeans and styles? I googled but did not find. TIA,Seven for All Mankind is the brand, and is a a great site tosee many of the styles.Patra, you can thank Laurie for posting the retail link and the brand name.Unfortunately, I still have not found a corporate info site that provides acomprehensive overview of the selection and what I did find leads me tobelieve Seven originates from Japan.Nope, not according the following Journal article I got from a marketingclass.Claire in SF'Seven' Brand's Tale Shows HowCostly Jeans Became Fashion FadOn a recent episode of "Will and Grace," a racy love scene between actorsDebra Messing and Matt Damon also happened to constitute a fashion moment. The closeup of Ms. Messing's jeans revealed squiggly stitching across theback pockets -- the logo of Seven jeans, the hottest upscale denims on themarket and among the priciest at more than $100 a pair.
JOE'S JEANS : This wasn't an intentional "product placement" paid for by the apparelcompany. In fact, the makers of Seven jeans don't advertise at all. Manypeople have never heard of their brand, which has been on the market forabout 18 months. But trendy boutiques can't keep them in stock becausefashionistas -- and increasingly mainstream wannabes -- often buy severalpairs at a time. The scarcity is part of a subtle marketing approach. In order to corralinfluential supermodels, fashion editors and stylists who dress celebrities,Seven eschews most department stores and instead targets the exclusiveboutiques where they shop, including New York's Scoop, Barneys New York andFred Segal in Los Angeles. This has helped the brand capture a multitude ofeditorial mentions in magazines such as Lucky, Allure, Elle, and RollingStone, all of which stirs buzz. Two young actresses are wearing Seven jeanson the cover of Vanity Fair's March Hollywood issue. But what Seven is really selling is fit. Seven jeans have become the star ina new niche of expensive denims, popular for several years now, that aretight-fitting and low-slung: Think Britney Spears. They emphasize a shift inconsumer preference to celebrate a more curvaceous derriere, a look oftencompared to that of actress Jennifer Lopez (who introduced her own J.Lo byJennifer Lopez jeans collection last December). JOE'S JEANS : Cool! Thanks so much for the info, Claire!!! Good grief, you'd think thiswould have turned up in my Googling :(But...the following quote does confirm my suspicion: " Shopper Tina Dendy, for example, says her backside is so flat that it could have been sliced offby those sharp knives sold on late-night television. "I've never had jeansthat got rid of my Ginsu butt!" she says. "But Seven jeans gave me a curvybutt for the first time," says Ms. Dendy,"If you already have a generous butt, would these low risers really be a goodchoice? I know the Gap and Levi's low risers aren't for me. My generousbooty was squashed like pancakes in those short rises (and Levi's lowpockets are NOT a flattering thing) and I did not get the "uplifted" look Iwas looking for. I'm now VERY curious about the Seven b/c this articleclaims they got rid of the gap at the waist. On the other hand, "a "hook inthe pattern of the crotch," sewn at an angle that "lifts up the butt,"sounds painful :) JOE'S JEANS : I was wondering whether anyone owns a pair of Joe's Jeans and what theythink. These are being touted by Style.com as the next "in" jeans. Theyhave a similar look (and price tag!) to Seven jeans...the low rise look withdifferent denim washes and their trademark are two "J"s on the back pocket.I'm really happy with my Sevens, but will admit that I am a slave to findingthe next perfect pair of jeans. Does anyone own both brands and can comparethe fit of both? These are available online at shopbop.com and I believe atBarneys (?) and Saks. Average price is about $115.I have the joes' leather cut jeans, just got them last week. I LOVE thisparticular style....but I have not tried any of the other ones. These aresoooo flattering to my butt. I essentially do not have a butt, it's ratherflat. These jeans make it appear round. Nice. :-)I'd thought about getting his recommendations for my husband for my highschool reunion, but... JOE'S JEANS : Ok now I am curious!!! How are they?? Do you guys know if maybe they werethe jeans Jennifer Love Hewitt was wearing on the Teen awards thingy lastnigt?? Why I watched it??? Who knows, boredom for sure :)Just looked at the site..Oh I want a pair..I think JLH was weasring themin eclipse..They looked amazing on her!! How can I get a apir in Canada??Normal dilemma!! LOL..Ebay has 1 pair..- not too nice!!"Mel&Steve" wrote in message...What about Paper Denim?? I have seen a lot of beautiful stars quote theseas their *must have * jeans??"Leilani" wrote in message...I have a skirt from Joe's Jeans that fits okay. The jeans themselves don't workso well on me, but they look really great on slim-hipped girls. If Earl's workfor you, I would think these would. After watching many girls of various sizestry them on at a sample sale, I would say that they seem particularly good atadding curves in the right places. Not so good if you have an overabundance ofcurves to begin with.
