EARL JEANS : Someone please tell me that Earls are cut small. I just tried on a half adozen pairs, and the only ones that fit were a full size bigger than Inormally wear. I found them terribly uncomfortable and really weird-lookingon me.For anyone in DC/MD/VA, there are tons of Earl Jeans at Frugal Fannie's andthey're going for about $20-30 because it's a closeout.Yes, you're right. I always have to go up a size in Earls. Even thestretch ones (44). All my other jeans are a size smaller. I thinkPaper Denim Cloth jeans (finally tried on a pair) are "sized" smallertoo since I had to go up a size to fit.The only comfy Earls I've tried are the 44 (regular, not the lowcutones). The lowcut ones are quite uncomfortable on me, but try theregular 44.I'm sorry they did not work out for you, Miyun. Yes, they are cut small andnarrow. I wear one size larger in them, even the stretch 44s. Wow, that isa great sale...wish I could go there!

EARL JEANS : I've been dying to check out what Earl jeans are like. I love jeans! Ihave a pair of Bettina Liano jeans and I absolutely adore them. Theyfit so well and make my butt look really good. I need more pairs butin different styles/colours.You can never have enough jeans, bags, shoes, jewlery and perfume!~"Ash nazg durbatulūk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulūk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul.""It has that menancing quality... sounds like you are gargling withweek-oldcoffee".~Why? Because when I saw them in Neiman Marcus they looked like trash, yet cost a lot.Why else? Because I (also) refuse to succumb to the latest trends out there and I hate wearing what celebrities like to wear.I got me two pairs, only cause they were in a sale. (140 quid overhere! I rustled out some for 19.99). One style is a kind ofwashed-out-vintage -shade, pale-denim with with a faint tickingstripe, ultra-low rise flare. Other, regular deep-dye bootcut. Ican't personally see what makes them so special or pricey. The thighson these and other styles i saw are cut unforgivingly mean and slender(hence their ending up on sale?) - in disproportion to an over-roomyass and waistband.

EARL JEANS : Just got my first pair of Earl Jeans ($59 -- thank you, Bluefly!) and,as others have noted, they are insanely long. I am 5'7" and they areabout 4" too long for me.Should I cross my fingers and take them to a tailor, or can I get awaywith just a big ol' cuff at the bottom?FYI for those asking about sizing -- I am mostly an 8, sometimes a 10,and I got a size 30. They fit *exactly* right, like a glove. Icurrently weigh 123, and if I gain an ounce, I am in trouble! (Newdilemma -- cheesecake for dessert, or fitting into Earl jeans?)Personally, I'd go with the cuff. The hem always seems to look a bit "off"when you get them shortened, IMO.I recently had an expensive pair of jeans (Jane's Army, $70, Bloomingdales)hemmed by a tailor in Koreatown in LA. She did a "jeans" hem which is justlike a regular jeans hem (orange contrast stitching) vs. the non-obviousstitching for a regular $5 hem (she actually suggested it, I didnt know itexisted and went in there totally baffled as to what to do with my too long& too flared jeans). It cost $20 but it was worth it. They look like theywere made in the length I am wearing them. And I wear them a lot.

EARL JEANS : I get mine hemmed by a local tailor, and she did a nice job. You can't tellthey were shorted. Just make sure she takes it in a little bit longerbecause they do shrink.I do mine myself..I leave about an inch the fold twice, and use the exactsame color thread as the rest of the jean..They always turn out great!! Ihave done many, including my sevens :)"Mark and Mai-Ly Griffis" wrote in message...Are they still on sale??"Heidi" wrote in message...Which are the best cut?? Thanks"Heidi" wrote in message...Another quick ?? I have Earl capris with a sty # 15003ec..Does anyone knowthe style?? REason being, size 28 is what they are , but by the site, thatwould make the hips a size 32"..Umm which I am not..LOL...Doesn;t quitematch here!!"Heidi" wrote in message...I think it depends upon the wash of the jeans. I ordered two pairs andthought that the lighter and "vintage" wash jeans (and those withcreases) would be better off cuffed due to the construction and/or factory"wear" at the bottoms while the darker rinses would be OK hemmed if thecolor of the thread used were right.

EARL JEANS : Hi, I'm a newcomer to this web site, and would appreciate some advice.I love the look of Earl Jeans, and want to order some (no local stores sellthem). However, I need to know what the best style is for curvy women. Ihave hips and a booty, and it's not easy for me to find clothes that fitwell. Actually, I'd really appreciate any recommendations on good brandnames/styles for curvy women. Everything seems cut for super-thin boyishfigures lately! Thanks in advance! If you're using 'curvy' as a euphemism here, be aware that Earl Jeanonly go up to size 32. If you just mean you have a proportionatelysmall waist, then you would be better off with a low-waisted style, sothe waist issue is avoided altogether. Earl Jean style 44 is theclassic bootleg, comes in both stretch and non-stretch versions, andwould fit a true curvy figure well, as long as your thighs arereasonably slim (all Earl Jean styles are cut relatively narrow in theleg). A cheaper alternative, virtually the same cut, is Gap ModernBootcut. For a fuller shape, Gap Bootcut is good. Other styles youmight try (going from slim to fuller cut)are Frankie B Sabrina, DieselDaze, and DKNY Esther.
