CHEAP JEANS : And 2, Wrangler makes a stretch Jean that is cut slim (good forsomeone like me with bird legs and no butt--my wife's description). They have about the same stretch as breeches, but look like jeans. They do not have a tight lower leg like breeches, but the material islighter (and cooler) than normal jeans and folds easily under halfchaps (regular jeans even cowboy-cut wranglers are heavier fabric andare stiffer and are lumpy under my gaiters). They run around $22 atWal*Mart and come in a regular denim color (my preference) and also ina dark blue and light blue (both dark and light blue look likeold-fart pants, IMO) . Worn with half chaps they are a cheapalternative to breeches. I save the breeches and tall boots for therare event where I need to look like a rider-in-style. When you are done riding , you take off the half chaps and are coolerand also look like you are just wearing jeans again while untackingand putting stuff away, or just hanging out. Since they are cheap, you don't have to as be careful of them like I am with the one pair ofbreeches I have ever found that fits me decently.
CHEAP JEANS : Well now you mention it, bill gates did once offer me a copy of madonnas immaculate collection.... ;)On Tue, 27 Nov 2001 09:55:41 -0000, "simon gray" wrote:Hmm interesting, obviously if somebody is on the defensive then they*must* be guilty of something...Points here:1) I'm a 'computer geek'2) My personal collection of CDs is around 500+3) I *only* write Open Source softwareSo your argument is false... Yes I download mp3's - for severalreasons:1) The record companies have decided to delete that track/album -hence I *cannot* get hold of it2) It's a group I haven't heard and I want to see what it is like, which generally results in me either deleting the track or buying thealbum.Of course CDs are stupidly overpriced with hardly any money going tothe *important* people (ie the artists) - of course hopefully whenBritain gets it's arse into gear with broadband we may see cheaptracks with *most* of the money going to the artists...Yeah and 99% of the MP3's out there sound like SHIT. The only thing they're good for is auditioning music. It's totallyunacceptable for regular music listening. CHEAP JEANS : Get a decent computer, they may play better lol---8 wrote in message ...Clearly they sound good enough for the millions of people whodownload stuff. Of course some people have finely tuned ears andare highly critical of anything other than CD's. Fortunately, Iam not one of them.Gilligan, perhaps you don't realise it, but Levi's cost a hell of a lot moreover here (hence the uproar about the legal action)$40 works out at about £28. Over here, Levi's generally sellf or between£40 and £60 or between $56 and $84 (before anyone comments - I know you CANget them cheaper if you shop around but, after the legal action, supplieswill be low!)well, I would say its a "fair" deal at $56 but $84 IS too much.We can get them on sale in the U.S. for $29. What if you order online? Even with shipping you should be ok, unless they get you in duty? That's not a boycott, that's being cheap (or frugal). I boycottexpensive cars. CHEAP JEANS : Levi Strauss has won a battle to stop Tesco selling its jeans at knockdownprices.Levi said Tesco's heavy discounts violated its European trademarkrights. Now the European Court has agreed with Levi's. Tesco had been selling thejeans at almost half the usual price. The decision will have wide implications for consumers who until now havebeen able to buy designer goods at less-than-designer prices. The European Court of Justice had ruled that goods sourced from outside theEU could not be imported without the consent of the trademark owner, Levi'ssaid. The long-running, and costly, dispute between Tesco's and Levi's was aboutwhether the jeans manufacturer had given the supermarket chain consent tostock its products.Tesco believed it had the right to sell jeans, such as the popular 501brand, at discounted prices, while Levi said it had rejected Tesco as astockist, therefore it could not.The EU court sided with Levi, which claimed that sales of its jeans throughTesco violated its European trademark rights. CHEAP JEANS : Levi had the right to control conditions under which its jeans were sold, the European Court said.Tesco - which began selling the jeans three years ago - says it will fighton. It had argued it had the right to control conditions under which itsjeans were sold.I already do along with many other over priced brand name products.A pair of Levi's cost about $40 and last well, depending on what you do and how you use them, for a hell of a long time and you think there's something wrong with that? The music industry, who doesnt use mp3 these days rather than buy cd's?Anybody who cares about fidelity and supporting artists forthe works they produce.Sorry. Are you accusing me of something? I do wonder just how much the artists actually see of this money. Do you actually know whatthe POR is on a cd?interesting how you immediately leap to the defensive. that usually meanssomething.
