It's no myth.Maybe she's just looking for someone to dance with.It was written and recorded by Michael Penn (Sean's brother) in 1992 or1993.From: ()Subject: Romeo in Black Jeans Newsgroups: Date: 1999/10/14 Does any one know the artist and song title of an '80's song that hasthe lyrics:The artist is Michael Penn (brother of Sean Penn). BLACK JEANS : I love banded collar shirts... all the formality of a dress shirt but without having to wear a tie. Being mistaken for a priest-in-training when I'm wearing a suit is vaguely amusing for lil' old atheist me, too. However, I can't find them in stores anymore, except for one that apparently caters to, well, pimps, for lack of a better description. Have they actually gone out of style, or just out of production? My other question is about black denim. I'm kinda tired of blue jeans, khakis, and cargo pants right now and I hate dress pants, but I know zilch about the aesthetics of denim of other colors. Are black jeans wearable for general purpose, or do they have any connotations I should know about? I.e., redneck, cowboy, specific sexual orientations, etc?On Sun, 22 Sep 2002 1:15:27 -0400, J.D. BLACK JEANS : The biggest problem I've had with black denim is that when it fades it just looks old and grungy, not nicely broken in."Morwen" wrote in message...> Metalhead. If youwant to wear black jeans, a Metallica or Ozzfest T-shirtYou must hail from the American Midwest. But you know whereof you speak;time was you could snare a pretty long-haired garange-band boy with saidget-up. I'd invest in a pair in which the color was deeply seeped thru thedenim, so that they might not fade as soon and surely. My friend and I areeagerly and pathetically awaiting the arrival of the '80's fashion revivalwhich is reputed to hit the midwest this fall. And I will then be able toafford the fashions that were denied me in 6th grade: neon-pink sweatshirtsand pin-striped jeans, oh yes.Nope. I was born and raised in Oregon, but it was exactly the same there. Too bad my mother wouldn't let me go out with guys who were on probation!

Depending onwhere you get your jeans, the black dye they use to color them mayshrink the denim more than the blue dye (I think it has to do with howmuch heat is required to get the dye to set) and they may run slightlysmaller than blue denim. Here is a link to J. Peterman (of Jerry Seinfeld notoriety, yes,)These may not be as tailored as you like. But off the top of my head, Ithink the black and white striped shirt with a pair of black denim wouldlook really sharp....throw in some cowboy boots, workboots whatever.I don't think anyone would think "priest' with these shirts, because they'renot the right fabric type.

BLACK JEANS : (supposedly there's some new Tide detergent or some other brand that has a"black fabric" formula out designed to keep black clothes from fading dobadly. DH wears black jeans a lot and they semm to fit a lot of casual tosemi-casual accasions.)Mao collar? I love those, for the same reason. I refuse to wear ties; so if I'm not in a casual environment I'll usually wear mock-necks or turtlenecks. But yeah; they disappeared from stores around 7-8 years ago.One option might be to see if there's a tailor in your area who can make them. Another is to check the thrift stores.Oh hey, here's a few shops selling some online:cm_cg=T95&cmid=prfmacqotherpf mcEddie Bauer? That surprises me. Looks like they're currently offering them though. As for pants, denim in any color is often seen as inappropriate in an office environment; though you might be able to pull it off if you're: 1) Rich 2) An essential creative "enfant terrible" 3) An essential uber-nerd.
